Movie review: Overboard 1987







Wealthy Joanna Stayton (Goldie Hawn) plays Mom who lives a life of leisure with her husband, Grant (Edward Herrmann) plays the antichrist, when she falls off their yacht and suffers amnesia


Mom wished for children with Grant, yet her mom convinced her that that would take away the affection from her husband so they never had children and lived a life of luxury


When Mom lost her memory, the antichrist takes the opportunity to rid Mom so he didn't have to deal with living with her -- yet Dean (Kurt Russell) plays Dad, a widowed carpenter with four kids who once worked for Joanna, arrives and claims she's his wife


He convinced her into being his wife and mother to his children with intent of paying him back his carpentry service that she owed


Mom doesn't remember her identity, and has trouble believing that she was ever meant to deal with four children and house chores


Amidst the craziness of caring for the children and the house, Mom and Dad fell in love


With pressure from Mom's mom to find her, the antichrist located Mom in a small town. She remembers her identity immediately and went back to the yacht with him


She realized she loves Dad and the children, the lifestyle on the yacht wasn't what she truly wants and jumped off the yacht to be with Dad who also jumped off his boat to meet her lol
